It’s no surprise, given the city’s culinary diversity and knack for the experimental. Lucky for food truck lovers, these qualities are reflected in many of Houston’s mobile eateries, which travel the city’s expansive footprint, feeding hungry followers.

1. Truck Yard Houston
Address: 2118 Lamar St. Houston, TX 77003
This beer garden and self-proclaimed adult playground (it does have its own ferris wheel) is a prime spot for good food truck grub. Truck Yard Houston hosts two to three food trucks each day of the week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., so you have ample time to get your meal without worrying that your favorite truck may be off to its next location. Its proximity to BBVA Compass Stadium, Minute Maid Park and the George R. Brown Convention Center make it a great choice for food and drink before or after sporting games and events.

Fork & Truck – Fork & Truck brings Houston’s diverse flavors into its expansive menu of signature sandwiches and dishes. From Cuban sandwiches to duck sliders and Philly cheesesteaks, this truck has something to satisfy every craving. Also on the menu are ribs, corn fritters, samosas and foie gras boudin egg rolls.
The Waffle Bus – This super popular Houston food truck has appeared on the Cooking Channel and won multiple local awards. Try the waffle burger – it’s just what you think it is, a patty served between waffles – or the buttermilk fried chicken and waffle.
Coreanos – Named one of the top 101 food trucks in the country in 2015 by The Daily Meal, this Mexican-Korean truck is a must-try in Houston. Go for tacos or burritos made with your choice of marinated beef bulgogi, Korean-style chicken or Korean-style tofu.
2. Levy Park

This urban park in Houston’s Upper Kirby District is a favorite for kids and adults alike. Featuring a beautifully designed playground, a dog park, a community garden, multiple green spaces, and a full schedule of free fitness classes and activities, the park is also a popular location for food trucks, which you’ll find there on a near daily basis. Pick up your food and enjoy it at one of the park’s many tables or bring a blanket and set it on the lawn for a picnic.

Coffee-Q – What’s not to love about a truck that marries coffee and barbecue? Coffee-Q has a full coffee menu, so you can get your fix whether you’re craving a mocha or some cold brew, as well as a simple but satisfying food menu. Try the brisket or pulled pork tacos.
Smoothie Strong – If you’re in the mood for something light and refreshing, go for a smoothie or smoothie bowl from this mobile Houston smoothie van. Make your own or choose from one of their creations like the Berry Energy, a combination of berries, milk and turbinado sugar.
3. Social Beer Garden HTX

This new addition to the Houston food scene is sure to become a destination for its beer menu, fun outdoor area, and a rotating selection of food trucks. Social Beer Garden HTX opened in Midtown in May 2019 and has already become the buzz of the town. While its two-story building is beautiful, the outdoor beer garden with its hammocks, picnic tables, and colorful chairs is where you’ll want to spend your time.

Breaking Bao – This Asian fusion truck specializes in bao, soft steamed buns filled with a variety of combinations – from braised pork belly to friend chicken to shredded jackfruit for the non-meat eaters.
Made-n-L.A. – Founded by Herson Samayoa, a California transplant who calls himself the Taco Guru, this food truck serves tacos, burritos and dishes inspired by Cali itself.
4. Post Oak Central
Address: 1900 Post Oak Boulevard, Houston, TX 77056
Designed by architect Philip Johnson, this mixed use development located not too far from the popular Galleria shopping center becomes food truck central on the second Tuesday of every month. Buy your lunch from one of the various mobile vendors that participate in this event and enjoy your meal under the shade of the area’s beautiful oak trees. Tasty Tuesdays takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

It’s a Wrap – Enjoy shrimp, sausage and cheese or buffalo chicken in a wrap at this Houston food truck. Complete your meal with German-style coleslaw or mac ‘n’ cheese.
Wylie St. Tacos – From its graffiti-style logo to its mouthwatering tacos, there’s much to love about Wylie St. Tacos. Obviously, you can never go wrong with the tacos, but they also serve up nachos, bowls, and its signature big ass chili quesadilla. Vegan or vegetarian items can be prepared by request.
5. City Hall Local Lunch Market

Office workers, families and visitors flock to this local lunch market across from Houston’s City Hall for its selection of prepared foods from food vendors and popular food trucks, which park around the perimeter of the big lawn across from city hall. Held on Wednesdays during spring and fall, it’s a great option to get a taste for Houston’s mobile food.

El Topo Food Truck – This truck serves Tex-Mex food prepared from scratch with locally and ethically sourced ingredients. Try the duck mole taco, a hand-made tortilla filled with duck confit, mole negro, and pickled red onions.
Nom Mi Street – Vietnamese melds with other popular local cuisines at this mobile eatery. The banh mi hits the spot, but you may also want to try kimchi and beef quesadilla if you’re in the mood for something a bit different.
6. Eureka Heights Brewing Company

Houston’s craft beer scene has grown exponentially in recent years and some of the city’s 60 breweries are regular hosts of the city’s food trucks. For a consistent rotation of trucks, try Eureka Heights Brewing Company.
Named after the fault line running under the brewery, Eureka Heights is set in a renovated warehouse in the Heights neighborhood. Head over to their tap room to enjoy good beer, fun events like trivia night, and get a bite to eat. Not sure where to start with the beer? Try the Buckle Bunny, Eureka’s best-selling beer. The tap room at Eureka Heights is open Wednesday through Sunday.

Foreign Policy – Inspired by Houston’s multicultural population, this food truck serves burgers, fries, and pitas inspired by Korean, Greek, Mexican and American cuisine. Don’t miss the donut burger (a beef patty, bacon, cheese and green onions served – you guessed it, inside a donut).
Satellite of Pizza – Craving a fresh and tasty pizza pie? You can’t go wrong with one from this mobile vendor, which travels Space City with a wood-burning pizza oven inside a shipping container aboard a truck.
7. Museum of Fine Arts Houston
Address: 5601 Main St., Houston, TX 77005
Take a midday break to enjoy some art – and a delicious food truck meal. The Museum of Fine Arts (MFAH) in Houston’s Museum District hosts a “curated selection” of Houston’s top food trucks on the covered porch of its Beck Building Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy your meal at the nearby Cullen Sculpture Garden, where you can take in the scenery while you eat.
Insider’s tip: on weekdays, bring your food truck receipt to any admissions desk between noon to 2 p.m. and get free same-day general admission to the museum. Ticketed exhibits are not included.

Moon Rooster HTX– Tacos and hot dogs are what’s for lunch at this Space City food truck. Enjoy your choice of chipotle chicken, ground beef or crumbled tofu and Mexican squash in a crispy or soft taco shell, or over salad. In the mood for a hot dog? Dress it up with chili and cheese.
El Sabor Venezolano– Despite its name, this food truck also serves Colombian and Mexican-inspired fare. But the Venezuelan specialties, like the sweet and savory cachapas – sweet corn patties filled with melted cheese, remain its calling card for good reason.
The Toasted– Follow this family owned truck for its Salvadoran-American fusion fare. You’ll find classic pupusas and chicken sandwiches, as well as American dishes with a Salvadoran twist.
